Non-fictionI haven't read that much non-fiction, but one book I read recently has suggested i should read more - The Alphabet versus the Goddess by Leonard Schlain. It's a study and a theory of how repression of women and the end of the female-based Goddess religion coincided with the development of the written word. I don't agree with everything in the book but that's part of the fun of reading theories I suppose. There's a lot of stuff to do with the focus switching from one side of the brain to the other, from creative to intellect based, and I found it a very interesting read.
Anyone else have a non-fiction book they're enjoying at the moment or read recently?

I read this a while ago and I can't remember the name of the guy that wrote it (will edit this later when I get home and look in the bookshelf!) but The Diving Bell and The Butterfly is an amazing book. It's about a man who had a very successful career at a top fashion magazine until he had a huge stroke, the book's about his experiences after the stroke and although it's not easy reading in places it's a really inspiring book.

I read Chris Moyles autobiography the other day. It was ok. I also read A Field Guide to Demons by Mack and Mack recently, which is good!

I'd like to add the Encyclopedia Horrifica and The Monster Hunter's Handbook too. Also good!
