Hi, I am from Florida, USA and forgive me if I plug my just published novel now, "TIME TRIP ON A MOEBIUS STRP," published by: www.infinitypublishing.com. And also available at www.amazon.com (USA) If I knew how to place the book's front cover on this page I would...I designed the cover myself using a real nautilus shell and Moebius strip inside, as well as two other surprises in the shell...I hope this will entice you to go have a look at it...
I will be 60 years old next month, but I look like I am fifty....(I take a lot of vitimins)....I used to be a flamenco guitar teacher, but had to give it up due to a case of "focal dystonia," which is a repetition injury in my left hand. This condition causes my hand to cramp up whenever my fingers touch the guitar strings....But I have no problem when I play the jazz clarinet which I learned about a year ago.
My publishing company, Infinity, just made a deal with a bookstore in lower Manhattan, NYC, that will stock self-published books for only a 25 dollar stocking fee....They charge all other publishers 300 dollars....The store will open for business in mid April. They are the first store in the world I know of that is stocking "POD" books or "Print on Demand" books from self-publishing companies.

Welcome to the site and thanks for the information about Infinity, will check them out, your novel sounds interesting, as do you!

Hi Moebius Tripper, welcome to Writeright!
Moebius Tripper
Thanks for the warm welcome...I hope I can add to the many topics you have here...I bought about 5 books on how to promote a book, but it's great to be able to talk to real peolple...You can't get any feedback from those books...You need to have support and advice if you are a writer...and help and support from the people who read your books...It would be the only way to improve your writing it seems.
April_Rose
That's the aim of this site, feedback and support, so good to have you on board!
Had a look at your book on Amazon and it certainly looks interesting, I'd love to read it, my account is with amazon UK so not sure how that works but will look into it, I'm sure if it's available on amazon it's available on all of them, went to have a look at your website as well, but it comes up with a message telling me I am not authorised to view the page due to my IP address being on a list of IP addresses that are nto allowed to view the site? I can't think why this would be, and maybe it's just a temporary error with a server or something, just thought I would let you know.
Regards stocking of hard copy books in a Manhattan bookstore, that sounds like a marvellous achievement, as POD is still looked down upon somewhat by people who simply don't understand how the modern book market works. I'll be looking at POD as an option when I finish my own novel, and one of our other members is in the process of publishing with Trafford.com. I look forward to learning more about your agreement and how you managed to come to it, especially given the location of the bookstore, congratualtions on that!

That'd be me.
Welcome to the site, Moebius Tripper, I had a quick look at your book on Amazon, looks good!

Managed to get onto the infinity publishing site, seems like a good company, POD is really taking off now and it may well turn out to be the future of publishing, the terms seem easy to navigate so I'll certainly look into it in more detail when I finish my novel!

I would strongly advise you and anyone who is planning to use a (POD) publisher to first read: "The Fine Print of Self Publishing, (sub title: The Contracts and Services of 48 Self Publishing Companies - Analyzed, Ranked and Exposed.)
This book will tell you which POD publishers to avoid and I hate to tell you, but "Trafford Publishing is at almost at the bottom of the list because of its outrageous sale prices that it sells its books for...It would be very hard to sell your book with them...Also it double dips in charging you, it takes a 25% bookseller discount, like Amazon would and then takes another 40% of the remainder. It earns an unjustifiably huge profit from printing the book...
Also its publishing fees it will charge you to publish with them are too high for what you will receive....
The author of "The Fine Print of Self-Publishing also says about "Trafford Publishing," "Although Trafford has devised a great business strategy, it would be a poor business decision for an author to choose this company."
I strongly advise everyone to first read the above book...The author is also a lawyer and has looked at all of the contracts of the 48 POD publishers in his book.
Another book that I would recommend for a unpublished author is, "POD PEOPLE", (beating the print-on-demand stigma," by Jeremy Robinson...He is also a sci-fi novelist who had the number one sci-fi book on Amazon...His novel is called, "The Didymus Contingency." He gives alot of advice on how he went about self-publishing his novels....He uses www.lulu.com as his publisher. They do not charge anything to the author as does the number cne rated self-publisher http://publishing.booklocker.com/ as well.
As far as that store in Manhattan that will stock self-publisher's books, they made a special deal with my publisher, "Infinity Publishing." The store is called: "New Voices Bookstore," and will only charge 25 dollars to the writer....

Thanks for that.
To be honest one of the main reasons I went with Trafford is cos I got it on the cheap!
Moebius Tripper
Well all I can say is GOOD LUCK if you already signed their contract....
