BUX'S POETRY COMPETITION (*Close date: April 1st) | Quote: | Ok guys and girls. One simple rule to follow. Post One Poem and we will get an ADMIN to decide the winner, unless of course that admin participates |
I have posted this before on differant sites. I like this poem as I express a lot of emotion. Hidden messages that only appear to give the reader a sense of Home are actual events in my life that shape this poem. And an overall sense of relief after writing and publishing it came to me. Poetry is the one few outlets in Life that true emotion can be dispersed from, and I feel that I did that here. Sorry to sound ego.
Yours And Yours Alone
By G. Buxton
Cease to exist for me,
Cease to amaze the blind,
The glasshouse walkway of lies on which you walk upon,
Seems to be the only topic where you shine,
If you could slaughter some justice,
Maybe kill some Religion too,
Would you still be the same to me,
If we could just talk it through with you,
Would it be the same topic in which you'd try to understand,
Would it be a soapbox where your neck is filled with sand,
This walkway of St Ettienne remains open to us,
On the road to understanding lies, lays no foundation and no surprise,
Little are the moments that never seem to end,
Terrible this crucifix that hangs around your neck,
Walkway of destiny, soapbox of life,
Walk-away from all of this,
Walk-away from all of these lies,
Walk-away from everything,
Walk-away because I'm so fucking tired of your eyes,
But I can't help it because I don't understand,
Maybe yours and yours alone to be understood,
Maybe yours and your mile to-be understood,
But not mine.
