Hi there and welcome to the site!

I'm April_Rose

I'm 25, I write short stories, books, radio plays, screen plays, poetry...I've been writing since I learned how and am currently focussing on getting my novel published. I've had some success, but I look forward to the day I see my book in print.

Enjoy the site!

Hi!

I'm redwinegoblin - I hail from the sunny (actually quite soggy) South of England . I've been writing poetry for years and occasionally write short stories . i've had the occasional success in publishing my poetry but I think I've come to terms with the fact that poets are very rarely rich! Still, I love it so I'll keep doing it Smile

Gonna have to find something for my sig and avatar too!

Wow! This site looks brill, guys! Like the name too! Should I do my intro thingy bit here? (you see how good with words I am?!)

Well, I'm 24 from Somerset. I write YA fantasy. Nothing published (few bits in magazines) but I am self-publishing a book I wrote when I was 17. I've re-written it loads, so it's not really the same as it was when I was 17. Thankfully, because it was terrible! Very Happy

Thanks - and intro-thingy is a perfectly valid word! Very Happy

Saw your website before Em_J, your book looks really interesting, I love fantasy, it's great for esacapism but there's so much more to it as well.

As for sigs and avatars, it was really strange for me to not use the ones I made before - they're all Lost-based!

Hi, I have an agenda.
I try to get publicity and advertising for a magazine called Interzone. I want more people to know about it. It is an SF magazine which publishes new short fiction. It's 25 years old this year. It carries the best film reviews of SF genre films you are likely to read anywhere plus book reviews and SF art. It is not a celebrity magazine. It's open to all to contribute as well as read.

If no one objects I'll post more about it and TTA Press's other publications occasionally. If a lot of you think I'm spamming I'll stop.

Those of you who are writers should know Interzone (IZ) as one of the few internationally recognised short fiction magazines where you can get professionally published. Sorry not poetry but our US rivals/equivalents/friends 'Asimovs' and 'F&SF' do publish poetry.

http://www.ttapress.com/

As for me I have had stories published in IZ a few years ago and I have had many rejected. No one is immune. Some of my poetry is scattered around the web and I have had one poem published in hard copy and received a fee for this appearance.

Hi Roy, welcome to the site. I've not actually heard of Interzone before but it sounds quite good! Might check it out. . .

Em_J IZ is carried by many UK newsagents and some bookshops, like Borders , and they can order it for you. WH Smiths don't stock it but will get it if asked. They want £1000's to actually stock it on their shelves.

IZ is a bi monthly so issue 208, Jan/Feb 07, came out two weeks back and should still be in stock. The next issue is 209 due March 1st or thereabouts.
