Just watching This Morning at the mo, and apparently next Thursday they're gonna give details about a short story comp they're gonna run. I might check it out, though I expect it'll be lots of Chick Lit tripe that they'll be more interested in.

Yeah the Richard & Judy one was a bit like that....still, I have a few stories that are kind of real life stuff, not chick lit, but the John & Cassie stories....

Oh yeah you've got those ones! I've not got anything like that. Mind you I've not got very many short stories in general, I need to write more so I've got some ready when comps and things come up!

Yeah I've about 20 including the 1000 word or so ones, a lot of competitions are so specific though, makes it hard!

20 blimey! I've got 4 and one I can't use cos it's already been accepted for publication, two I've sent off for other comps, and one is the Devil's Food story!

yeah one of mine was published too so I can't use it now. Most of mine are old &need to be edited I think...I've been writing stories a few years though, you only started a few monts ago!

Yeah true! I still need more though! I just have no ideas lately though, not for longer stuff.

I have loads of ideas, it's the actual writing that's the problem, I get a few hundred words and then I get stuck.

Cool! it's decent from what I remember (not my story, although obviously that's good too ) the other stories, it's ages since I read them though!

I could do some more sentences or something if you think that'd help get the imagination going?

Yeah that'd be good, ta! I did write a couple of starting sentences for myself but they were so crap I just turned my nose up at them!

it's really hard sometimes! I'll come up with a few and post them, I do it for creative writing classes as I find people who aren't used to writing get freaked out at te sight of a blank page....

Yeah tis a good idea. I want to have a go at that summer ghost story comp I posted somewhere here, but I don't really have any ideas for that either at the mo.

Yeah, I must force myself to do some more as well...
