i read Journey to the Centre of the Earth as a child and loved it, got a copy recently and loved it even more. Same goes for 20000 leagues under the Sea, though I do get a bit tired of the classification of all the fish in the latter. I haven't read Around the World in 80 Days but plan to get around to it one of these days. The imagination the man had was incredible, and he was well learned enough to be able to give scientific background to the stories. Journey to the Centre of the Earth remains one of my favourite books, the only thing I dislike about it is that it isn't longer. Any other fans of Verne, or detractors?

Since you like stories about the "inner earth," did you ever read the non-fiction book by Dr. Raymond Bernard, called: "The Hollow Earth?" It is about the earth being hollow with openings at both poles....The Earth is even suppose to be populated inside by a race of giants 12 feet tall.....

I haven't heard of that but it sounds more like a fiction than a non-fiction to me, will check out the links another time though

It may sound like fiction, but if you read the links about the Admiral Byrd expedition to the Soth Pole and the full story about him in "The Hollow Earth," you will change your mind, or at least have grave doubts about this being fiction.

By the way, do you know about this web site that has 75,000 free books you can read and even print out?

Thanks for the link, seems like a good site, I've never gotten around to getting a palm pilot to read ebooks on but I might yet!
